EventTracker, Prism’s enterprise event management solution, integrates with industry’s most recognized security framework
Columbia, MD –Prism Microsystems Inc., a pioneer in event log management technology, today announced that EventTracker 6.0, the latest version of its enterprise event management solution, has achieved OPSEC™ (Open Platform for Security) certification from Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ: CHKP), the worldwide leader in securing the Internet.
The OPSEC certification comes after in-depth compatibility and benchmark testing and allows EventTracker to seamlessly interface with Check Point’s market-leading VPN-1® network security gateways. EventTracker collects streaming data from Check Point VPN-1 gateways via the Log Export API (LEA) and analyzes it in real-time against a number of pre-defined correlation rules and reports to detect security vulnerabilities. Alerts are automatically sent out to appropriate personnel for quick incidence response and threat mitigation.
“The OPSEC certification assures our joint customers of tight, secure integration of EventTracker with the industry’s most recognized security framework,” said Steve Lafferty, vice president of marketing, Prism Microsystems Inc. “By correlating log data from Check Point products with log data from other applications and devices across a network, EventTracker is able to provide a holistic enterprise-wide view of a company’s security environment,” he adds.
“Security event correlation and analysis are crucial to identifying and preventing security breaches,” said Bob Egner, vice president of product management for Check Point. “Through OPSEC certification of Prism Microsystems’ EventTracker, our joint customers can effectively manage critical security events and benefit from comprehensive vulnerability and risk management solutions.”
Recently available, EventTracker 6.0 is the latest version of Prism’s enterprise event management solution. The new release delivers major architectural and performance enhancements, more powerful analysis features, and an enhanced reports console that provides audit-friendly workflows for a pain-free compliance audit. A key feature of EventTracker 6.0 is the collection point architecture that offers optimal scalability for geographically dispersed enterprises to efficiently collect and report on log data generated at all locations – it allows for local monitoring and analysis of critical events as well as a global enterprise-wide view of trend for compliance purposes.
